Chaque année, dans le cadre de l'action "
Talents CNRS", l’attribution des médailles du CNRS célèbre les chercheurs et chercheuses et les agents qui contribuent de manière exceptionnelle au dynamisme et à la renommée de l'institution. Lors de sa session d’automne, la Section 19 propose à l’INSU des candidates et candidats pour les médailles du CNRS. Elle sollicite les programmes nationaux d'astronomie-astrophysique pour des propositions pour ces médailles. L'ATCG met en place ce formulaire afin de collecter vos propositions. Vous êtes invité a le remplir tout au long de l’année.
Le CES de l'ATCG étudiera les propositions et sélectionnera les candidates et candidats à faire remonter à la Section 19 chaque année généralement avant octobre.
Pour rappel :
- La médaille de bronze récompense un(e) chercheur(e) s'étant distingué(e) par son activité en début de carrière (jusqu'à environ thèse +10 ans et âge < 40 ans) ; il y a une médaille de bronze par an et par section, la sélection étant faite par la Section 17.
- La médaille d'argent récompense un(e) chercheur(e) "confirmé(e)/senior" pour son travail d'ensemble effectué sur une plus longue période ou pour un résultat particulièrement marquant ; il y a une ou deux médailles d'argent par an au sein de l'INSU, le choix étant fait au niveau de l'institut après propositions des sections.
L'appartenance des candidats aux corps du CNRS n'est pas un pré-requis.

Each year, as part of the "Talents CNRS" initiative, CNRS medals are awarded to researchers and staff who have made an outstanding contribution to the dynamism and reputation of the institution. During its autumn session, Section 19 puts forward candidates for CNRS medals to INSU (National Institute for Earth Sciences and Astronomy). It seeks recommendations for these medals from national astronomy-astrophysics programs. ATCG has established this form to gather your recommendations. You are encouraged to fill it out throughout the year, bearing in mind that the ATCG steering committee will review the submissions and select the candidates to be forwarded to Section 19 each year, typically before mid-October.
As a reminder:
- The Bronze Medal is awarded to a researcher who has distinguished himself/herself by his/her activity at the beginning of his/her career (up to around 10 years of thesis and age < 40); there is one Bronze Medal per year and per section, the selection being made by Section 17.
- The silver medal is awarded to a "confirmed/senior" researcher for his or her overall work over a longer period or for a particularly outstanding result; there are one or two silver medals per year within the INSU, the choice being made at institute level following proposals from the sections.
Candidates do not have to be members of the CNRS.
